Spiced Hot Cocoa
What’s better after playing outside than coming in to a cup of hot cocoa? I make my hot cocoas with warming spices so after a day out in the cold (or just-too-warm-to-snow-but-cold-enough-for-hypothermia as it is where I live), warming spices warm the body from the inside out, helping your little (or not-so-little if you like hot cocoa as I do). This blend is approved by my kids, who drink it down faster than I can fill their little cocoa mugs.
Ingredients: Organic and fairtrade cocoa powder, organic coconut sugar, organic ceylon cinnamon, organic ginger, organic allspice, organic cardamom, sea salt
Simply add your milk of choice to 1 tbsp cocoa mix and heat on the stove. Top with homemade whipped cream or homemade gelatin-rich marshmallows for some extra fun. (Marshmallows recipe will be posted on my blog soon.)
